Traffic control information and guidance systems and traffic management systems/ITS are gaining more and more importance, due to hardly expandable traffic space within urban areas. Essential targets of these systems are to reach optimal use of the traffic infrastructure, to improve of traffic safety, to link individual und public transport, in a more efficient and urban-friendly way, to improve environmental conditions and to make more economical use of natural resources.
Traffic management by application of advanced telematic components aims at further improvements: to operate all subsystems based on situation-responsive strategies and to influence modal choice and traffic conditions by provision of actual pre- and on-trip traffic information.
DR. BRENNER INGENIEURGESELLSCHAFT MBH has gained profound know-how and experience from research projects in the field of UTC/ITS on behalf of the German Federal Minister of Transport and Traffic and projects in various cities in Germany and abroad.
